Statement

August 2011

I am exhibiting some of my photographs of the Groynes of Norfolk at `In Vitro' Art Gallery in The Mall, Lincoln. Please support me and this gallery. It is a wonderful place to go and see a range of quirky, ecletic art and design ideas.

I also have made a miniature artist book for the 2011 Sheffield Book Fair whic takes place in October/November so if you are in Sheffield it is worth going to a book shop where you will be able to view, hold and read a variety of handmade artists books. You can  even vote for your favourite one.

I am trying to mount and frame a collection of my best Norfolk Coastline photographic work for a solo exhibition later this year. [more details will be added later]

My latest art works include a collage of recylcled  things that have been lost, misplaced, dumped, forgotten or abandoned in the Norfolk Countryside. It's beautiful and deserves a place displayed at one of the Nature Reserves in Norfolk. Any ideas are most welcome. Also i have done a painting of a Hymadryad which i also stitched some 500 leaves and flowers onto making it a unique one off work of art.

I hope to add a few calendars for next year showing examples of my photographic work and perhaps some cards also.

I am still drawn to the sea and have produced some new work of my favourite haunt Mundsley in Norfolk. My latest two paintings are studies of the groins one a close up and one of the sea lashing. I have also put up for sale another painting also of Mundsley groin, it is one of my favourite works and it will be hard to part with it so i hope the person who purchases it enjoys it. These works can be found until the end of August at `The West Street Art Gallery' in Cromer and can be purchased online through my website or at `Zeroone art'.

Alot of artists at the present time are really struggling to make ends meet, okay we understand that art isn't a great way to make money fast  and many famous artists didn't get famous until after they had died. Mostly we don't want fame but we would like people not to assume that we are rich either. Art is a job just  like banking, accounting, teaching and even artists need to be able to put food on the table for families, `if the world did not have art how black and white it would be', so please support what we do not resent it because you assume we are living the high life.

Thank you for reading this and i hope that whatever you are doing in your world you have time to stop and appreciate somthing beautiful each and every day.

Biography

Please go and check out all the cool things i have designed and make someone's day with a purchase. Remember it's julymoonart

Not much of a Biography as i am Self taught Photographer and Artist , though i did spend a magical year and a half at Norwich City college doing a foundation course in Art and Design sadly due to health issues i was unable to complete it.

My love of photography started as a teenager and encouraged by my father who was an avid photographer. However, since moving to Norfolk with my now grown-up children i have become really aware of everything around me. I see nature everywhere i look and my head is buzzing with ideas for shots, places to capture moments and the beauty of the Norfolk countryside. My camera is an extra limb, without it i feel lost.

July 2010:- I have a desire to explore the human figure as part of nature, this idea has had scenarios rolling about in my head for quite sometime but as yet no foundations have been laid. They are ideas waiting in the wings that i hope to explore later in the year.

This year i completed my work `Fractions of Rem' but a yet haven't be able to afford gallery fees to exhibit but i will let you know if i do .

Did you like my skateboard? Well several people did on some of my other websites and i have been commissioned to create other work of the same type. The latest news on this new area of my work is that i am selling original and totally unique canvases which will be exhibited at the Norwich Mall Shopping Centre (level 2) from the 9th August 2010 until 15th of August 2010. Come along and say hi and buy a handpainted/drawn original artwork.

I have worked as a textile artist for many years, working primarily with wool, silk and other natural fibres be it weaving, felting, silk paper making ,needle felting and lately knitting.

2009:- I like to paint in a mixture of different mediums, at present i am experimenting with oils but i am also rather fond of air brushing and spray paint. . At the moment i am working on a series of Acrylic paintings called `Fractions of R.E.M' they are about my dreams. I dream in colour and these are images reflect my dreams. Some are metaphors of my life, either in reality or my imagination.

I had a piece of work in the Mall galleries in London last year which was enormous fun and i am entering this year as well.

There are so many fantastic artists out there, that at times i feel as if i am swimming against the tide, it would be great if in 2010 i found someone who would like to represent one area of my art. Check out my shoes and T-shirts on Zazzle or go and find me on Saatchi Online, where i have some of my black and white photographs. See some of my work on  http//britishwomenartists.com .
